Regional 9-1-1 Emergency Number Program School Book Cover Contest

911 symbol The winner of the NCTCOG 9-1-1 2007 School Book Cover Contest is the Two Dimensions Preparatory Academy Charter School in Corsicana, TX. The contest was open to all second grade classes in the NCTCOG region.

Grades 1 and 2 are combined into one classroom. The following students created the winning book cover. The entire class was treated to a surprise pizza party to celebrate their achievement.

The school book covers will reach an estimated 50,000 students during the 2007-2008 school year.

Artwork was judged on a student's knowledge of 9-1-1, including:

  • Why call 9-1-1
  • When to call
  • Be ready when you call
  • Know your location
  • Stay calm
  • Listen and follow instructions
  • Don't hang up

Educating children on the use of 9-1-1 is one of our highest priorities.
