The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging is charged by the Older Americans Act to plan, coordinate and deliver services for older adults and their family caregivers. In carrying out its planning role, it sets a strategic direction for its services and shares information with communities to help them plan for aging needs.

The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging enters into a number of contracts for nutrition, transportation, caregiver, and other support services. In most cases, contracts are in effect for one or two years, with bids accepted during the month of August. It also accepts vendor applications at all times for homemaker and respite services. How is the agency funded?
The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging receives federal funds from the Administration on Aging, state funds from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, and local funds from the counties within its service area. In addition, its programs are supported by client contributions.
Who oversees the Agency’s work?
The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging is a program of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and, as such, is governed by NCTCOG’s Executive Board. It receives strategic direction from the Regional Aging Advisory Committee. In addition, it reports to the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services as its primary funding source.
