Criminal Justice Program FY10 CJPDC Funding Recommendations

moneyDisclaimer: If your project is recommended to CJD for funding, this only means that your project scored above the limit for recommended projects (at least 70 points). It DOES NOT mean that your project will get funded.  CJD will make final funding decisions on our priorities based on the money available in each funding source.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is responsible for reviewing funding requests, setting priorities, and recommending allocation priorities for Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division (CJD) funds for projects in this region. CJD will verify the eligibility, reasonableness and cost-effectiveness of all grant applications, and submit the eligible applications to NCTCOG for scoring. Grant applications are reviewed by the Criminal Justice Policy Development Committee (CJPDC). The Committee is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, NCTCOG's Executive Board. The Executive Board then votes on CJPDC's priorities.

Based on NCTCOG's priority listing, and the availability of funding at the state level, CJD will render final funding decisions. Eligible applications are scored by the CJPDC and those scores set the priority rankings. Below you will find NCTCOG's priority rankings for General Victim Assistance – Direct Services (RFA1), Law Enforcement/Courts/Prosecution/ Training for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and/or Stalking (RFA2), Criminal Justice Planning Fund 421, Safe and Drug-Free Schools & Communities Act Fund (SDFSC), Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (JJDP), Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Recovery Act applications.

Important Notice

“Pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Administrative Code, after the CJPDC prioritizes the grant applications and the COG's governing body approves the priority listing, the COG submits the written priority listing to CJD.  Based upon the COG's priority listing, CJD will verify the eligibility, reasonableness and cost-effectiveness of the proposed project, and the availability of funding, and will render final funding decisions on these grant applications.  The COG will notify grantees of any changes in the funding recommendations.”

CJD will verify the eligibility, reasonableness and cost-effectiveness of the proposed project, and the availability of funding, and will render funding decisions on these grant applications. CJD does not share the allocation figures with the COGs.
