The Executive Director’s Office is responsible for management of the Agency, including
staff support for the Executive Board. As the Chief Executive and Administrative Officer, the Executive Director's primary mission is to effectively and efficiently carry out the policies and
directives of the Executive Board and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Agency. The
Executive Director's office maintains all records of the Board, including the official minutes,
resolutions, bylaws and committee appointments. This office also manages several local government professional
roundtables.
Agency Administration oversees all of the
grant accounting and reporting to
state and federal agencies. Funds
for hundreds of grants are
processed each year. All of the
treasury management tasks are
coordinated here, including daily
bank processing, wire envirfers
and investment management. Agency Administration is also responsible for human resource management, building lease
and maintenance coordination,
telephone system management,
insurance, purchasing and other
agency-wide administrative tasks.
The Department of Community
Services has program
responsibilities for the North
Central Texas Area Agency on
Aging, regional 9-1-1 emergency
number administration, criminal justice planning and funds allocation, and Public Safety
Radio Communications. The Regional Training Center provides training and professional development through a regional police academy and a local government program.
The mission of
the Emergency Preparedness department is to leverage
existing efforts across professional
disciplines and to explore new
opportunities in which many
public and private agencies can work together to strengthen
regional emergency preparedness.
The department does this by
acting as a convener, coordinator,
communicator and advocate for
training, planning, partnering, and
funding opportunities from local,
state, federal or private resources.
Sustainable Environmental
Excellence—or SEE—has become
the overall theme for Environment & Development resources and initiatives. The principles of
SEE—caring for the region in a
way that benefits all North Central
Texas today and into the future—
now guide the efforts of the
department and the region as we
make plans for this growing and
changing area into the 21st
century. The SEE initiatives comprise four
strategic issues: SEE Less Trash,
SEE Clean Air, SEE Safe Clean & Green Regional Environmental Corridors, and SEE Development
Excellence.
Public Affairs provides external services on behalf of the Agency in the form of news media/public relations, directories, newsletters, special publications, and operation of NCTCOG’s Regional Information Center) This division als provides internal services for all departments, such as graphics design and photography, agency switchboard, mailing lists, meeting/workshop support, and special projects.
The mission of the Research and
Information Services department is threefold: to
provide objective information and
analysis on the development of the
region for use in area planning and
economic development activities;
to support the information
service needs of NCTCOG; and to assist local governments in
the implementation of information
technology. This department provides general
technical assistance and research
on current and future populations
as well as employment changes,
land use information, and
development trends. The
department also develops and
supports Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Internet, and database administration technology
for the Agency and the region.
Through a continuous, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process, the Transportation Department develops and implements transportation plans, programs, projects, policies, partnerships and performance measures aimed at reducing congestion, enhancing mobility, and improving air quality. The goal of this process is the development, implementation, and operation of an integrated intermodal transportation system that provides for the safe and efficient movement of both people and goods.
Workforce Development administers publicly funded employment and training programs for 14 counties in North Central Texas. The department provides staff support to the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board by providing planning, coordination, management, and oversight services.
