Subcommittees of the RCC
Three subcommittees from the Resource Conservation
Council (RCC) were created to assist in the development of the SEE Less Trash Regional Solid Waste
Plan. These subcommittees are responsible for assessing the
current and future needs of the region concerning three areas of importance: recycling, stopping illegal
dumping, and assuring treatment and disposal capacity.
Time to Recycle
The regional goal for Time to Recycle is that purchased materials are reused and recycled wherever
possible, while increasing waste prevention and reduction throughout the region. In order to achieve this
goal, a subcommittee was formed to ensure both public and private participation in the planning
process. [more]
Stop Illegal Dumping
The regional goal of the Stop Illegal Dumping (SID) subcommittee is to see that illegal dumping is significantly reduced in the North Central Texas region. To help facilitate reaching that goal this subcommittee was developed with participation from citizens throughout the region to help guide the program in meeting the regions needs. [more]
Assuring Capacity for Trash
The vision of success in Assuring Capacity for Trash (ACT) is that remaining waste be handled in a safe manner at permitted facilities. To achieve this goal, a subcommittee, made up of local governments, private companies, non-profits and anyone interested, was put together to determine the disposal needs for the region. [more]
