The purpose of the Regional Hydrologic Hazard Mitigation Coordinating Council (RHHMCC) is to guide the implementation of the multi-jurisdictional hydrologic mitigation strategies outlined in the document titled Mitigation Strategies for Hydrologic Hazards: Top Ten Priority Actions to the Year 2010, otherwise known as the “10 by 2010 Action Plan”.
The ultimate goal of this Council is to promote SAFE regional environmental corridors where the risks of loss of life and property damage from flooding are reduced, the natural function of the floodplain to safely convey storm water is preserved and the financial integrity of the region’s residents is secured.
