The Department of Environment and Development is presently seeking nominations to the following committees:
- Public Works Council, which provides expertise and support to the NCTCOG Executive Board and staff on a wide range of local public works issues such as the Public Works Construction Standards - North Central Texas, managing right-of-way, comprehensive and consistent storm water management through iSWM, and regional pavement design guidance, as well as identified subregional issues.
- Regional Codes Coordinating Committee, provides guidance for several advisory boards that are designated to render expertise in various building science fields.
- Resource Conservation Council (NCTCOG's Solid Waste Advisory Committee) provides support and advice to NCTCOG's Executive Board on methods to conserve, recover and recycle valuable resources and to provide proper handling and disposal of nonrecoverable waste materials. It is guiding the development of a regional solid waste management plan.
- Water Resources Council advises NCTCOG's Executive Board on both technical and policy issues related to water resources matters. The committee reviews day to day technical issues; oversees the water resources planning process; and performs technical review of water related grant applications.
In addition to reappointment requests, local governments, organizations, and individuals may nominate new members. Recommendations for both reappointments and new appointments will be submitted to NCTCOG's Executive Board Nominating Committee for consideration at their September meeting.
