March-2006 Issue
4th Edition of Corridor Development Certificate Manual Being Developed
The Corridor Development Certificate Manual is being revised to a 4th Edition. The new manual is being developed to address technological advances, linear projects, exemptions, hydraulic modeling and other relevant topics since the 3rd Edition was adopted in 2002.
The Corridor Development Certificate (CDC) process aims to stabilize flood risk along the main corridor of the Trinity River. The CDC process does not prohibit floodplain development, but ensures that any development that does occur in the floodplain will not raise flood water levels or reduce flood storage capacity. Participating local governments retain ultimate control over floodplain permitting decisions though other communities along the corridor are given the opportunity to review and comment on projects in neighboring jurisdictions.
For more information, please visit the CDC website at www.nctcog.org/envir/SEEsafe/fpm/cdc or contact NCTCOG’s Department of Environment & Development at (817) 695-9227.
