New Insights Gained into Urban Land Institute
I thought I already knew a lot about ULI – the Urban Land Institute from our activities together over the past two years in the first phase of Vision North Texas.
But wow, was I even more impressed when I had the chance for the first time to meet with some of their staff “luminaries” (my term) in Washington, DC recently – Executive Vice President, Senior Resident Fellows and the like. First and foremost, they treated me as if they had known me for many years … warm handshakes, smiles all around, let’s just chat casually. It felt like Texas.
Then we launched into what Vision North Texas is, but more importantly what it can become. These folks know what they are talking about. As I raised topics and issues, they identified opportunities and solutions. It was a great morning.
Our new Partnership Agreement includes …
- Wherever possible, they will include Vision North Texas in the policy and research agenda of ULI, such as in case studies, surveys, best practices, metropolitan research projects, study tours, etc.
- Wherever possible, they will provide ULI staff, fellows and members, and ULI materials, at reduced/no cost to Vision North Texas initiatives.
- Wherever possible, they will invite Vision North Texas participation in presentations & panels at ULI events locally, nationally and internationally.
I’m really looking forward to our even stronger partnership … and visiting some more with the ULI luminaries.
