NCTCOG has been contracted by the DFW Hospital Council to complete an Emergency Operations Center capability assessment for the jurisdictions in their region. This includes the counties with the NCTCOG region, as well as the counties in Texoma and NorTex COG regions and the larger cities within.
We created a brief online survey based on many guiding documents:
- Medical Surge Capacity and Capability – A Management System for Integrated Medical and Health Resources During Large-Scale Emergencies; Tier III –Jurisdiction Incident Management
- DHS Target Capabilities List: Version 1.1; Emergency Operations Center Management
The goal of this project was to provide an updated data layer that shows the aggregate Emergency Operations Capability within these regions. Data collected will be combined with data obtained from NIMSCAST, the 24 hour Point of Contact list, recent interoperable communications surveys, and other capability layers such as Hazardous Materials, Explosive Ordnance Device, and Public Safety Answering points.
A mapping layer and general analysis has been shared with the DFW Hospital Council for the use within their contacts. The data will also be the base line date for future regional projects such as critical infrastructure/key resources, Hazard Mitigation, and intelligent transportation system linkage, among others.
