| CENSUS 2000 SUMMARY FILE 3 DATA Social Characteristics NCTCOG is providing selected data files from Census 2000 Summary File 3 for the North Central Texas region. The files contain the most requested variables, i.e., those which are included in the Summary File 3 Social Characteristics report. (The full set of 76 data files may be downloaded from the Texas State Data Center or the U.S. Census Bureau.) Data files are presented as they were obtained from the Census Bureau, with the addition of a "county code" field for use in filtering. All files are in dbf format, which can be added as a table to an ArcView/ArcGIS project, or opened as a spreadsheet in applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. The layout of each file is dependent upon the summary level selected. City and county summary level: One data file (dbf) for all cities or counties in the NCTCOG region Block group, tract and zip code tabulation area (ZCTA) summary level: Zipped archive of three data files (dbf) for all block groups or five data files (dbf) for all tracts or ZCTAs in the NCTCOG region
