Land Use

NCTCOG’s 2000 Land Use inventory is available for cities and counties in the nine-county urban area (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, and Tarrant counties). The 1995 Land Use inventory is available for cities in the North Central Texas Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA). Approximately 90% of all residential and commercial activities in North Central Texas occur within this area, which encompasses more than 4.5 million acres of land. The Land Use by City publications list land use by category for cities with total land areas of 300 acres or more. For county totals and smaller cities, use the Interactive Query of Land Use Data.
