For many communities, it’s a familiar
predicament. They’re tied to aging financial,
human resources, payroll and procurement
software systems that no longer deliver the
functionality, integration or support they
require. Yet these communities often lack the
financial and information technology (IT)
resources to pursue the implementation of an industry-current, web-based enterprise
resource planning (ERP) solution.
Now, communities have a highly attractive option: NCTCOG's
Shared Services Center.
In a nutshell, the Shared Services Center enables your
community to migrate rapidly to hosted “tier-one” ERP
applications — without the costs, risks, logistical challenges or
maintenance issues inherent with an in-house installation.
These web-based, integrated applications encompass:
Human capital management
Financial management and reporting
Budget formulation and execution
Procurement
Employee and manager self-service
Workflow and process automation
Document imaging
Integrated information access
These mission-critical business systems are hosted by
the Shared Services Center which includes a secure data center with comprehensive backup, disaster recovery and
business continuity capabilities.
Software Plus Services
NCTCOG has selected a Tectura Corporation proposal to offer a software plus services subscription-based solution that ties together financial, procurement, human resources, payroll, utility billing, work order management, permitting, and other functions to public sector entities. While there has been a move for quite some time to offer subscription-based software, this solution is one of the first programs in place for public sector entities. This offering will provide an opportunity for NCTCOG customers to enhance their information technology capabilities including streamlined internal operations and online information access for citizens. For entities favoring the traditional purchase approach to software acquisition, this software is also available through that procurement model.
