Through a collaborative effort with the cities of Arlington, Carrollton, Grand Prairie, the North Central Texas Council of Governments is able to provide a unique but proven program offering of Tier 1 financial, procurement, human resources and payroll software and related services to any government agency. Under this program NCTCOG makes available several options to assist government agencies in meeting their core business system needs.
“We explored multiple options in enterprise software that could accomplish automation and streamlining our payroll and financial systems, and with Lawson we join 11 other agencies in Texas using a true top-tier enterprise system – Lawson Software as a proven solution.”
“In this day and age, technology is paramount to the success of an organization. The appropriate application of technology saves money and can ultimately allow more tax revenue to be used to address citizen concerns."
What We Offer
Through a contract with Lawson Software, participating entities gain access to top tier software with a suite of applications that provide the following.
- Financial Management and Reporting
- Human Capital Management
- Budget Formulation and Execution
- Employee and Manager Self-Service
- Workflow and Process Automation
- Document Management
Also available through a contract with Velocity Consulting, a leading provider of Lawson-related service and support, is a catalog of service offerings to help implement, support and advance any of the software options available through Lawson. Velocity can provide business and technical application expertise to implement Lawson software and, if necessary, support and host the entire Lawson environment in their Tier 4 data center, providing a true cloud environment for the entire Lawson suite.
The experience and ability of both Lawson and Velocity create a robust solution from two companies with a proven track record, but implementation of mission-critical software can still carry substantial risk. As an option to new Lawson governmental customers, NCTCOG Shared Services ERP participants can use the base system configuration from one of the existing participants that have already successfully implemented the program and start the process with a system that has already been proven effective in providing core service at a government agency.
Like other NCTCOG Shared Services programs, this offering is all about choice and flexibility. Options make this program a fit for a wide variety of agencies. Any government agency can choose to participate in any portion of the shared software and services. Are you just looking to purchase top tier software but want to host it on your own? Do you already own Lawson software but need services to advance, support, maintain or upgrade the system? Are you looking for hosting options for Lawson to offload cost and to obtain a quality disaster recovery and business continuity plan for your critical systems? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then the Shared Services ERP program at NCTCOG may be able to help.
NCTCOG has followed a process that meets all competitive procurement regulations and as a result the requirement to go through a request for proposal process has been met. Through an interlocal agreement with NCTCOG, any government agency can take advantage of any combination of the many options available under this program.
