North Central Texas (NCT) Clean School Bus Program:
2012 Call For Projects
Funding is available to schools, school districts, and school bus operators to reduce emissions from school bus fleets in the 16-county NCTCOG services area. Eligible activities included school bus replacement, engine repower, engine/exhaust system retrofit that result in a reduction in nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions of 25 percent or greater, and installation of on-board idle reduction technology. To be eligible for funding, all public entities must adopt the Regional Transportation Council's Clean Fleet Vehicle Policy by the close of the Call.
For more information about the Clean Fleet Vehicle Policy, visit www.nctcog.org/fleetpolicy.
Projects are selected on a competitive basis with emissions reductions, cost-effectiveness, and implementation timeframe as the predominant scoring criteria. Refer to the NCT Clean School Bus Guidelines for more information on eligibility requirements and project details.
