Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Equipment Grant Program |
 The North Central Texas Council of Governments has partnered with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to fund clean vehicle and equipment projects through the Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Equipment Grant Program (HDVEGP). The program seeks to reduce emissions from heavy-duty engines in the region as well as educate public and private entities on available clean technologies and fuels.
The program opened on July 20, 2009 with approximately $10.7 million available. In early October, an additional $750,000 from the EPA was added to fund construction equipment projects.
The application deadline has been extended until June 25, 2010. In addition, projects approved for funding after February 26, 2010 will have an extended implementation deadline.
