Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Equipment Grant Program

The North Central Texas Council of Governments partnered with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to fund clean vehicle and equipment projects through the Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Equipment Grant Program (HDVEGP). The program sought to reduce emissions from heavy-duty engines in the region as well as educate public and private entities on available clean technologies and fuels.

The program opened on July 20, 2009 with approximately $10.7 million available.  In early October, an additional $750,000 from the EPA was added to fund construction equipment projects.

The 2009 Call for Projects is now closed.

Grant funding was available for the following three areas:

• Construction Equipment
• Idle Reduction Technology
• Local Government Projects
