The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) partnered with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to fund clean construction equipment projects through the Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Equipment Grant Program (HDVEGP). Eligible applicants include public and private entities that own and operate construction equipment in the Dallas-Fort Worth nine-county ozone nonattainment area. The program seeks to reduce emissions from heavy-duty engines in the region and educate entities on available clean technologies and fuels.
In early October, an additional $750,000 from the Environmental Protection Agency was added to fund construction equipment projects. In addition, funds have been reallocated from public to private sector projects due to recent demand. As of February 14, 2011, the program has reopened to expend remaining funds. To view funds awarded, please visit the HDVEGP Home Page.
Applications are due to NCTCOG offices by 5:00 pm Central Time on April 8, 2011.
