Regional Refuse Hauler Program

There are thousands of refuse haulers that serve the public in North Texas. The North Central Texas Council of Governments has developed a clean refuse hauler program due to the high visibility of refuse hauler fleet vehicles in communities and the current air quality non-attainment status of the region. The program seeks to educate and inform public and private refuse hauler companies on available clean technologies and fuels and funding opportunities. Refuse haulers include a wide array of on-road heavy-duty vehicles that haul various types of waste.
