HUD Preferred Sustainability Status
In 2010, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) was awarded a Community Challenge Grant by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for their Planning for Livable Military Communities (PLMC) grant application. As a HUD Community Challenge grantee, NCTCOG has been designated as a Preferred Sustainability Status (PSS) community through FY2012. This means that NCTCOG can award two bonus points to HUD grant applications from eligible entities that NCTCOG feels are consistent with the Livability Principles established by the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, NCTCOG’s Planning for Livable Military Communities project goals, and the Center of Development Excellence Principles. The bonus points signify that the PSS community believes the applicant is dedicated to advancing sustainability in their region or community. NCTCOG represents 16 counties in the North Central Texas area and is now accepting applications from local and regional partners to be considered for the two PSS bonus points. Please review the following instructions for submitting your agency’s application to NCTCOG.
