The following programs listed address areas not included above such as dependence on foreign oil, energy efficiency, and funding for emissions reductions (including non-road sources).
- Blue Skyways Collaborative: A multi-State effort throughout the Midwest, along I-35, to reduce air pollution through innovative fuel- and energy-saving strategies and collaborative partnerships.
- DFW Clean Cities: This U.S. Department of Energy program that promotes the use of alternative fuels, idle reduction, fuel blends, and advanced technology vehicles to lessen America's dependence on foreign sources of petroleum.
- Light-Emitting Diode Traffic Signals: This plan replaces incandescent traffic signal lamps with LED lamps, reducing energy costs, and emissions from power generators, maintenance and labor costs, and enhancing safety at intersections and improving visibility.
- North Texas Clean Air Coalition: This group of civic and business leaders encourages voluntary efforts to improve air quality in North Texas through educating, motivating, and recognizing the business community.
- Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) Partnership: TCEQ has partnered with NCTCOG to implement a portion of TERP grant funds in North Central Texas through Calls for Projects. The TERP program provides funding for clean diesel projects including new vehicle purchase, vehicle replacement, engine repower, engine retrofit, idle reduction, and infrastructure projects.
