Asset Management

A rather new and innovative option available for transportation projects involves a strategic design and performance-oriented approach
to address corridor improvement planning through incorporation of the business principles of asset management.  Capita/Operations
Asset Management (Cap-Main) employs the development and application of a data management system to track and analyze performance
information such as infrastructure conditions, traffic patterns, geometric design, and other characteristics.

Projects identified in the Cap-Main analysis demonstrate the asset management approach to categorize and address probable corridor
deficiencies and/or performance gaps through use of more low- to moderate-cost techniques that are quicker to implement rather than
complete infrastructure replacement or reconstruction.

IH 20/IH 30 Strategic Management Systems Pilot Study

This Pilot Study enabled authorization of these improvement projects that are now included in the Mobility 2040 Plan. These projects are part of a larger regional effort
to determine overall mobility needs between Parker and Tarrant Counties.

After performing the data analysis, the segment was broken into 6 focus zones for possible CAPMAIN improvements.  Focus zones can be viewed in the map below.
