S.M. Wright Parkway
The S.M. Wright Parkway project on US 175 extends from IH 45 to SH 310 and will convert the existing limited-access freeway and frontage roads into a boulevard with signalized intersections. This reconfiguration of the S.M. Wright Freeway will be made possible when existing through-traffic on US 175 is diverted westward to IH 45 and the Trinity Parkway via a new connector being developed as part of the Trinity Parkway project. This new connector to IH 45 and the Trinity Parkway will also improve safety in the area by removing the sharp curve in the existing US 175 freeway at SH 310. The intent of this project is to reduce noise and other highway-related impacts to the area, improve neighborhood connectivity, and encourage economic activity. A corridor study is ongoing to determine the community's preferences in the boulevard's configuration and related urban design projects including parks and trails.
