Passenger Airports

Description

Commercial passenger airports in North Central Texas Region are the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field. 

Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport services the Dallas-Fort Worth region and operates and maintains its own police, fire protection, and emergency medical services. DFW currently has five terminals totaling 155 gates. Transportation for travelers within the airport include a secured-side airport train system (Skylink) and a shuttle bus system that connects all five airport's terminals (Terminal Link). Currently the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail line services DFW Airport at the Centreport/DFW Airport Station south of the airport. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) offers bus services to the Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station and the Southwestern Medical District/Parkland Station on Bus Route 408 from Remote South Parking. On August 18, 2014, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) began direct rail service to the DFW Airport Station, located adjacent to Terminal A, providing direct rail service to Las Colinas, Irving, and Dallas. DFW Airport has air service currently to over 204 destinations. In addition, DFW Airport served over 60 million passengers in the year 2013. 

The City of Dallas owns and operates Dallas Love Field, one of the finest general-purpose airports in the world. The airfield is located seven miles northwest of the downtown central business district and is managed by the City's Department of Aviation.
