Previous Metropolitan Transportation Plans

The current metropolitan transportation plan, Mobility 2030: The Metropolitan Transportation Plan for the Dallas-Fort Worth Area, is the tenth transportation plan for the region. The first plan was completed in 1974, titled the Total Transportation Plan for the North Central Texas Region for 1990. Since that time periodic updates have been undertaken to reflect changing demographic and transportation system assumptions and to reflect changes in legislative and regulatory requirements.

Below is a summary of each of the previous planning efforts. Published executive summaries and/or summary presentations of each, with the exception of the 1990 Plan, are available for viewing online and printing. These previous planning documents are provided for informational and historical purposes only. Please refer to Mobility 2035 for the currently approved plan recommendations.
