DART Community Meetings & Public Hearing

Dallas Area Rapid Transit will conduct a public hearing March 23 on proposed changes to its bus and rail services.

The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at DART headquarters, 1401 Pacific Ave., Dallas, Texas.

DART has also planned a series of 15 community meetings leading up to the public hearing to discuss the proposal. The transit agency plans alignment and frequency changes, as well as the renumbering of some routes, and discontinuation and addition of others.

Residents who want to speak at the public hearing are asked to register with DART’s Community Affairs Office, 214-749-2543. They may also do so at the hearing.

For more information and a full list of meetings, visit www.dart.org/meetings.

As the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Dallas- Fort Worth area, the NCTCOG Transportation Department and Regional Transportation Council are together responsible for developing, coordinating and allocating funding to transportation plans and related air quality projects.
What is the MPO?

NCTCOG invites and encourages all North Texans, including those traditionally underserved by transportation, to share ideas and opinions. The Public Participation Plan [PDF] details more about how groups and individuals can be involved. Additionally, NCTCOG proactively seeks to educate and engage North Texans in the transportation planning process. It is expected that by 2030, nine million people will call North Texas home. Meeting the mobility needs of today and tomorrow requires coordination and collaboration.

Public Participation Plan Revision

The Regional Transportation Council will soon consider revisions to the Public Participation Plan that was presented at public meetings in December 2009. Comments on the proposed revisions could be submitted until Jan. 29, 2010.
