Grapevine - Fairfield on Main Street

The City of Grapevine is expanding its historic downtown into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood. In 1996, Grapevine opened a new classical style city hall in the heart of the downtown and private developers have added many new historic-style buildings along Main Street. The first large, mixed-use development called Fairfield on Main Street Grapevine opened in 2009 in the downtown. The four-story mixed-use development contains retail on the ground floor and 250 residential units on the upper floors.

In addition, NCTCOG partnered with Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA) and the City of Grapevine to build a commuter rail line currently known as TEX Rail, connecting downtown Fort Worth with Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport through Grapevine with a stop in the downtown. The new station will have the potential to spur additional sustainable mixed-use and walkable development in downtown Grapevine. Fairfield on Main is located directly south of the proposed TEX Rail station.

Historic Downtown Grapevine

Under the 2005-2006 Sustainable Development Call for Projects, NCTCOG funded $800,000 with additional
local funding from the City of Grapevine to build wide pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, crosswalks, landscaping,
and street lighting along Main Street from the historic downtown to the Fairfield complex.
