Station Area Sidewalks - City of Farmers Branch

The Station Area Sidewalk project is a pedestrian improvement supporting a mixed-use development adjacent to an existing DART rail station. The Famers Branch Station Mixed-Use Development is located east of the rail station. The area improvement includes construction of sidewalk, landscaping and pedestrian amenities. Additionally, the station plaza will be constructed to enhance pedestrian experiences with amenities and green space, leading to the nearby Gussie Field Watterworth Park. The mixed-use development is in proximity to the Farmers Branch Historic Park and City Hall.

The proposed mixed-use development consists of residential apartments, parking garage and first floor commercial. It includes 200 apartment units, 2.656 acres of parking garage, and 5,000 sq. ft. of office and retail space.

This project was funded through the 2009-2010 Sustainable Development Call for Projects. NCTCOG
funded $532,160 with a local match of $133,040 from the City of Farmers Branch for street construction, pedestrian amenities, and landscaping to support the pedestrian improvement project.
