The Development Excellence Search Engine was
created in a joint effort betweenthe NCTCOG’s
Environment and Development (E&D), Research and Information Services (RIS), and Transportation Department to provide a valuable research tool for public and private sector planners and stakeholders to access and utilize planning tools and resources.                                                                              

The Development Excellence Search Engine is a repository of sustainable best practices, and planning documents from around the nation compiled to aide in sustainable development and resource management. Search engine contents include, but are not limited to:

  • Comprehensive Plans
  • Design Guidelines
  • Form-Based Codes
  • Land Use Plans and Maps
  • Mixed-Use Development Codes
  • NCTCOG Planning Studies
  • Thoroughfare Plans
