Managing Electronic Records (February 19, 2019)

This course discusses federal and state laws associated with management, administration, and retention of electronic records. Class discussion will also offer information on managing email, text messages, websites, social media sites, and cloud computing. Also included is a brief discussion on scanning and digitizing hardcopy documents. Additionally, the class offers helpful tips for implementing and fine tuning your electronic records program. This is a 3-hour course for all governments. The instructor is a Certified Records Manager (CRM).
The class will detail overall and/or specific components of a records management program utilizing up-to-date federal, state, and local laws as applicable, including best practices, benchmark and accepted procedures, and how and why these procedures are required or suggested.
Training will be held at the North Central Texas Council of Governments at 616 Six Flags Drive Arlington, TX 76011.
All levels of records managers.
