This training is provided for those involved in Emergency Management and Emergency Response. It details both prevention of and service to citizens with disabilities. What can and can’t be said and what can and can’t be done in the process of interrogating, holding and processing people with disabilities.  

Agenda items:
  • General Emergency Management Policies and Procedures  
  • Planning for Emergencies: Notifications and Management 
  • Training First Responders, Staff and Volunteers, and those who Manage Personnel
  • Sheltering rules, policies and procedure overview


The objective of this course it to make those that manage personnel and emergencies aware of ADA requirements in regards to citizens and personnel with disabilities.  This includes those in leadership positions, staff, volunteers, and training first responders while processing those with disabilities
