This class is specifically designed for Texas code enforcement officers needing to earn six hours of continuing education in this subject in connection with the renewal of their code enforcement certification by the Texas Department of Licensing Regulations. The class is designed to meet requirements for code enforcement officers prior to the renewal of their certification with the Department of State Health Services, as specified by 25 Texas Administrative Code Sections 140.168 (c) and (j)(12). As a Government entity we have been approved by the Texas Department of License and Regulation to administer this course for continuing education credits.
(Note this is not a 6 hour course but this is eligible to go toward your requirements for training hours)
This is a four-hour class designed for local health department officers, code enforcement officers, registered sanitarians and police officers relating to the use of Texas public health laws to respond to local pollution. Discussion of (1) Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 341 Minimum Standards of Sanitation and Health Protection Measures and (2) Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 343 Abatement of Public Nuisances. There will also be discussion of Junked/Abandoned Vehicles.

Local code enforcement officers and registered sanitarians; local peace officers; local health department officers; specialized environmental enforcement officers; fire marshals and firefighters; prosecutors; city and county staff and elected officials needing a good understanding of the approaches available to control mishandling and dumping of waste; state agency officers needing a good understanding of the specific enforcement powers available to local governments to deal with this waste.
