Work Program Modifications
The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for regional transportation planning provides a summary of the transportation and related air quality planning tasks to be conducted by the metropolitan planning organization. Proposed modifications to the FY2020 and FY2021 UPWP will be posted for review and comment.
Public Comments at Regional Transportation Council Meetings

Due to the passing of House Bill 2840, members of the public can now provide their input during Regional Transportation Council meetings. Staff will provide an overview of this process and post the draft rules for review and comment from January 13 through February 26, 2020.

Electric Vehicle Incentives
North Texans can take advantage of several electric vehicle incentives, including a Federal Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit of up to $7,500, a State rebate of up to $2,500, and several incentives from select utility providers. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is currently accepting applications for several funding programs under the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan. One program provides rebates for purchase of new light-duty electric (plug-in, plug-in hybrid or hydrogen fuel cell), natural gas, or propane vehicles, and another offers incentives to repower or replace diesel or gasoline vehicles with natural gas or propane. An grant program that pays for up to 50 percent of the cost of alternative fuel infrastructure is also available. For more information, go to www.terpgrants.org.
Clean Fleets North Texas 2019 Calls for Projects
The North Central Texas Council of Governments is offering grant funding for the replacement of heavy-duty diesel vehicles or equipment, with awards ranging from 25 to 45 percent of project cost. Eligible applicants include local governments or private companies that contract with local governments. The application deadline is Friday, February 14, 2020.
