The goal of the infrastructure project is to improve pedestrian connection and circulation around the planned Joshua Station. Once constructed, the Plum Street extension will be a four-lane drive featuring ample sidewalk space for pedestrians and decorative landscaping. Adjacent land, now vacant, will be prepared for future development with the addition of the roadway. The project will support future mixed-use transit-oriented development within the area.
This project was funded through the 2009-2010 Sustainable Development Call for Projects. NCTCOG funded $554,245 with an additional $138,561 local match from the City of Joshua on transportation improvements to support the development.
