Historic Flour Mill Catalyst Transit-Oriented Development Project - City of McKinney

This redevelopment project, located just outside historic downtown McKinney, will convert the historic flour mill complex into a mixed-use destination. The proposed project includes 60 residential units, 5,000 sq. ft. of office space, 2,500 sq. ft. of retail space and 2,500 sq. ft. of restaurant use.

The area is served by DART bus transit, and located about 1,000 feet from the planned McKinney Central Rail Station. The project includes a 10-foot wide hike and bike trail that strengthens the connection between historic downtown McKinney, the Flour Mill Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) complex, and Old Settler’s Park.

The Historic Flour Mill Catalyst TOD Project was funded through the 2009-2010 Sustainable Development Call for Projects. NCTCOG awarded $1,760,000 with a local match of $440,000 from the City of McKinney for street improvements, pedestrian amenities, and a bike trail connection.
