Collin County Strategic Roadway Plan (CCSRP)

Study Overview

As part of the Strategic Corridor Initiatives identified in the Unified Planning Work Program, NCTCOG staff is assisting Collin County with developing this comprehensive planning process to identify major transportation needs that may improve mobility and accommodate future growth in the area east of the US 75 corridor.  As previously identified in Mobility 2040: The Metropolitan Transportation Plan for North Central Texas, the CCSRP planning process will evaluate possible north-south roadway connections to/from Dallas and Rockwall counties, as well as potential east-west roadway connections to/from Hunt and Rockwall counties.

Work efforts associated with this planning process include: travel demand modeling; reports on future traffic volumes, origin-destination analyses, and other travel characteristics; and presentations to local government elected officials, technical staff, and communities.  The CCSRP planning process will also include arterial and freeway (non-tolled) recommendations for inclusion into the DRAFT Mobility 2045 Recommendations Listings in the upcoming
Mobility 2045: The Metropolitan Transportation Plan for North Central Texas.

Status Updates

April 30, 2018:  At this time, work on the CCSRP planning process is on hold until after the approval of the Mobility 2045: The Metropolitan Transportation Plan for North Central Texas, which is tentatively scheduled for review and action by the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) on June 14, 2018.

NCTCOG staff will continue to update this web page on a regular basis.  Updates will include notification of future public meetings to obtain additional input and feedback on these preliminary recommendations and development of other possible alternative options.  For further information about the CCSRP planning process, please refer to the CCSRP Questions and Answers.
