Grant Application Workshops
FY27 Grant Cycle
NCTCOG will conduct free, mandatory grant application workshops for agencies applying under the Office of the Governor’s (OOG) Public Safety Office (PSO) grant categories listed below.
NCTCOG’s region includes Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise counties. If your agency provides services outside of the NCTCOG region, a list of other Councils of Governments (COGs) is available at https://txregionalcouncil.org/regional-councils/. Applicants seeking to serve counties in other COG regions must contact the appropriate COG to obtain information on workshop requirements, policies and procedures, scoring processes, and related requirements.
NOTE: NCTCOG is not responsible if an agency fails to attend a mandatory workshop. It is the applicant agency’s responsibility to contact their applicable council of governments for workshop information. Funding announcements for grant categories prioritized by COGs contain the following application process instructions:
- Applicants must contact their applicable regional council of governments (COG) regarding their application.
- Each of Texas’ 24 COGs holds its own application planning workshops, workgroups, and/or subcommittees and facilitates application prioritization for certain programs within its region. Failure to comply with regional requirements imposed by the COG may render an application ineligible.
IMPORTANT: Applicants are strongly encouraged to review each category’s Funding Announcement to determine eligibility and confirm that proposed projects meet all applicable criteria.
- Criminal Justice Program (Justice Assistance Grant): This funding supports projects that promote public safety, reduce crime, and improve the criminal justice system. FY27 Criminal Justice Grant Program Funding Announcement
- General Victim Assistance Grant Program: This funding provides services and assistance directly to victims of crime to speed their recovery and aid them through the criminal justice process. FY27 General Victim Assistance Funding Announcement
- Juvenile Justice and Youth Diversion Grant Program: This funding supports projects that prevent violence in and around schools and improve the juvenile justice system by providing mental health services, truancy prevention, diversion services and intervention through community-based and school programs. - Violence Against Women Justice and Training Program: This funding supports projects that promote a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to improving the justice system's response to violent crimes against women, including domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Note: If your agency plans to use a grant writer who is not an employee of the organization, at least one agency employee must also attend the workshop. Contract grant writers may not sign in on behalf of multiple agencies.
