Sustainable Procurement for Local Governments

The North Central Texas Council of Governments held a webinar on Sustainable Procurement for Local Governments via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Speakers provided an overview of sustainable procurement and highlighted examples of successful sustainable purchasing programs at various stages of development. Participants heard from speakers with the South-central Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource (SPEER), City of Austin, and Alameda County on their experiences with sustainable purchasing. Following presentations, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with speakers.
This webinar was targeted at local governments interested in learning more about sustainable procurement and green purchasing, and how they can develop similar policies.
