Dallas-based non-profit, Trinity Coalition, in working with the National Park Service, has led the Trinity River to be designated as the first Texas-based National Water Trail. This is a major and coveted accomplishment! Their next goal is to make North Central Texas into the planet’s foremost nature-oriented urban area.

The Trinity Coalition has created a mapping tool that will allow local residents and visitors to explore nature, either through self-guided tours or with Trinity Coalition’s trained tour guides. This tool provides great potential for eco-tourism and benefits to economic development.

When the World Cup comes to D-FW next year, Trinity Coalition intends to use its mapping tool to encourage visitors to get into our nature. The economic growth potential of rebranding D-FW into the world’s best urban-nature areas is significant, for both tourists and workers/companies considering coming here. The NCTEDD invites you to a webinar being held on Monday, March 10, 2025 where Stephen S. Smith, Trinity Coalition’s founder and board president, will conduct a roll-out of their interactive nature-experience mapping tool, with over 100 places to go and things to do.
