Staff highlight RPA's mission and impact
On Saturday, May 2, the Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association hosted the Citizen Police Academy Alumni of North Texas (CPAANT) monthly members meeting, bringing together community members, alumni, and law enforcement supporters for a morning of networking, education, and collaboration.
Representatives from NCTCOG's Regional Police Academy (RPA), Training Support Specialist Barbara Miller and Training Specialist Retired Chief Mike Holguin, delivered an informative presentation highlighting the academy’s mission and impact throughout the region. Led by former Grand Prairie Assistant Police Chief Christy Martinez, the academy serves agencies that do not operate their own training academies and plays a critical role in preparing future law enforcement professionals while supporting continued professional development of officers across North Texas.
Attendees learned about the academy’s extensive training efforts, its contributions to the law enforcement community, and opportunities for volunteers to support academy initiatives. The presentation reflected the professionalism, dedication, and community engagement consistently demonstrated by the RPA staff. Thank you to the RPA staff for representing the academy with excellence and for continuing to strengthen partnerships between law enforcement and the communities we serve.
