NCTCOG INVITES PUBLIC TO HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NORTH TEXAS TRANSIT AND EV GROWTH AT SEPTEMBER PUBLIC MEETING

Arlington, TEXAS – The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) invites the public to provide input on zero emissions vehicles, transportation updates and funding initiatives during a hybrid public meeting at noon on Monday, Sept. 14.
The meeting will be held at the NCTCOG offices, 616 Six Flags Drive in Arlington. Those unable to attend in person can view the meeting online at PublicInput.com/nctcogSept26. North Texans can also participate by calling 855-925-2801 and entering code 10576. Public comments will be accepted through Tuesday, Oct. 13.
NCTCOG staff will provide information on the North Texas Zero Emissions Vehicle Call for Projects in which $55.4 million is available for public and private fleets to replace existing heavy-duty vehicles powered by gasoline, diesel, propane and natural gas fuel. Staff will also present Access North Texas as the Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan for North Central Texas.
Next, staff will spotlight the region’s progress on federally required transportation performance measures and preview draft targets for 2026–2030. The update will focus on congestion mitigation, air quality and transit asset management, showing how data-driven planning is helping North Texas build a safer, more reliable and better-performing transportation system.
Finally, staff will present an overview of the submission of an application to the Federal Transit Administration for the 2026 Access and Mobility Partnership Grant. The project would use an AI-powered platform to help older adults and people with disabilities find and access transportation options, with support from staff and community partners.

About the Regional Transportation Council:
The Regional Transportation Council (RTC) of the North Central Texas Council of Governments has served as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) policymaking body for regional transportation planning in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 1974. The MPO works in cooperation with the region’s transportation providers to address the complex transportation needs of the rapidly growing metropolitan area.
