DCTA A-Train Routes-to-Rail Stations

In 2023 a Study was completed to analyze pedestrian first/last mile connectivity around six Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) A-Train commuter rail stations in Denton, Lewisville, and Carrollton. This Study focuses on pedestrian routes within one half-mile around each of the rail stations. A review was conducted of existing conditions for sidewalks, trails, and crosswalks, and gaps in the existing network.  The Study also examined where improvements could be made to further enhance accessibility for pedestrians to the rail stations.

Proposed corridors for sidewalk and trail improvements were identified and ranked as High, Medium, and Low priority based on the ability to increase access for the greatest number of potential transit riders. The final report, a map of each study area, and Opinions of Probable Construction Costs tables for all recommended improvements can be viewed here.
