April is Fair Housing Month and the North Central Texas Council of Governments is hosting a webinar on Expanding Housing Attainability. Local government staff, housing providers, tenants, and other interested individuals are welcome to join.
In Keeping North Texas Affordable, Dallas Housing Coalition Executive Director Bryan Tony highlights the urgent housing challenges facing the Dallas-Fort Worth region and outlines actionable solutions to expand attainable housing. The presentation will review current housing data, supply constraints, zoning barriers, and legislative updates shaping the housing landscape. It will also showcase the Coalition’s growth and advocacy successes, while identifying next steps—including zoning reform, anti-displacement strategies, and community engagement—to ensure Dallas remains a city where everyone has access to a quality, affordable home.
In the Fort Worth Community Land Trust Overview, Executive Director Becky Bass will share how a land trust works including stewardship, permanent affordability, roles of the trust and the homeowner and the benefits of shared equity housing programs. The presentation will include the progress that Fort Worth Community Land Trust has made since its founding.
Affirmatively furthering Fair Housing is a goal central to the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) Program. NCTCOG Environment & Development assists TDA in the administration of the TxCDBG Community Development Fund.
