Freight Safety Campaign

The 2025 Freight Safety Campaign, which launched in late May of 2025, underscored the critical importance of safety within the North Central Texas freight network. As part of NCTCOG’s ongoing efforts to enhance regional safety standards, this biennial initiative focused on reducing freight-related accidents and educating the public on safe driving practices near large commercial motor vehicles. To maximize engagement, the campaign leveraged relatable content—including diverse photography, memorable slogans, and social media outreach—to foster a deeper understanding of risk prevention. By distributing safety tips across platforms such as podcasts, billboards, and radio advertisements, the campaign encouraged drivers to prioritize safety on roadways and at railroad crossings throughout the region.

This collaboration worked to reduce rail crossing-related accidents by educating the public on safe practices and highlighting the vital role rail safety plays in keeping our communities secure.
