Ennis - Ennis Avenue

The Ennis Avenue project will improve safety, mobility, and connectivity along Business 287 at the Union Pacific Railroad and the IH 45 interchange. A new grade-separated railroad crossing will eliminate a longstanding barrier between the city’s north and south anchors, reducing delays and improving safety for drivers, pedestrians, and freight movement.

Intersection upgrades at SH 34/IH 45 include Texas u-turns, dedicated turn lanes, realigned frontage roads, sidewalks, and new traffic signals to improve flow and walkability. Ramp reversals along IH 45 will enhance access to downtown and support the City’s Downtown Master Plan, helping strengthen the link between the interstate and Ennis’ historic core.
