Automated Vehicle 2.0 Program

The Automated Vehicle 2.0 (AV2.0) program was created to advance planning, partnership, and investment into AVs in North Central Texas. The program consists of three phases.

Planning (AV2.1)

Help North Texas communities plan for the arrival of emerging transportation technologies such as automated vehicles (AVs)

Partnerships (AV2.2)

Generate funding to help North Texas communities build effective partnerships with the AV developers when they deploy AVs in the community

Investment (AV2.3)

Make strategic investments as a region in AV service to explore use cases that are important to the region but are not being adequately addressed by the private sector

AV2.1: Connected and Automated Vehicle Planning

The first phase of AV2.0 took place between May 2021 and June 2022 and consisted of public and stakeholder engagement, information gathering, public education, data collection, best practices, and guidance on planning for the impacts of automation and related transportation technologies.
