AASHTO Bicycle Facilities Workshop

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) will host a series of 1-day in-depth training sessions to equip practitioners with a strong foundation to understand the rationale behind modern best practices.
Register now to join us for a workshop facilitated by Toole Design Group focused on the fifth edition of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities. The workshop modules will highlight updates to the Guide and key considerations for transportation professionals involved in supporting, planning and developing connected networks for bicycling.
Training Modules:
- Overview of the Guide
- Choosing a bikeway type
- Elements of bikeway design
- Retrofitting roadways to include bicycle facilities
- Bicycle boulevards principles of design and effective traffic calming
- Transitions between off-street bicycle and on-street facilities
Public and private sector planners, engineers, and related transportation professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth region are encouraged to attend and gain comprehensive training about the current design guidance and best practices to plan, design, and construct active transportation facilities.

The same material will be covered at each workshop date and location. Seating is limited and registration is required to attend the workshop at any location.
