Community Contract Development Assistance
The Solid Waste Community Contract Development Assistance Project (CCDAP) is an effort launched by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to help communities streamline the process of procuring solid waste management services.
The NCTCOG region is expecting consistent, rapid growth over the coming decades, resulting in an increased demand for these services. The process of procuring solid waste management services can be complex and time-consuming, especially for smaller communities. To address these challenges, NCTCOG has partnered with Burns & McDonnell to develop a document library of resources that all communities can utilize. The document library will include the following.
- Guidance Documents on the Procurement Process of Municipal Solid Waste Management Services
- Guidance Documents on the Development of Contracts for Municipal Solid Waste Management Services
- Model Ordinance Language for Municipal Solid Waste Management
- White Papers Discussing Best Practices for Municipal Solid Waste Management
Additionally, the CCDAP is developing a stakeholder group comprised of smaller communities to help inform development of project deliverables. Municipal or other local agencies serving communities with a population less than 20,000 are encouraged to participate in the stakeholder group. If you are interested in volunteering for the stakeholder group and would like more information on the project, please contact Casey Cannon at ccannon@nctcog.org or 817-608-2313.
