2005-2006 Call for Projects
Status:  Complete

Las Colinas is a mixed-use planned community located in Irving with high-rise office towers, retail centers, upscale residences, apartment complexes, and recreational facilities. Since the project completion, the area has seen additional growth with new mixed-use apartment complexes built directly next to the station. This includes the Crest, The Carolyn, and the Gables Water Street apartments, all of which can support local businesses on the ground floor. Other attractions in the area include Irving Convention Center, Mustang Square, and a riverwalk-styled canal with an above-ground Las Colinas Area Personal Transit (APT) System connecting various developments. The Urban Center Station is located within a mile from California Crossing Park, which provides local residents and visitors with green space for various recreational activities.

Through the 2005-2006 Sustainable Development Call for Projects, NCTCOG funded rail transit improvements on the APT System to connect to the Las Colinas Urban Center Station on the DART Orange Line to support this transit-oriented development.

The project cost of $1,625,000 was funded through public-private partnerships.
